Rauginiti - Sauerkraut / Hunter's Stew

   (yields approximately 12 servings)

Ingredients:

  1 64oz jar of Sauerkraut

  1 pound fresh shredded cabbage

  1/2 cup brown sugar

  one large yellow onion

  1/2 teaspoon whole caraway seeds

  6 oz canned tomato soup (un-diluted)

Preparation:

Drain and lightly rinse the sauerkraut.
Mix all ingredients in a casserole pot.
Add water to bring liquid level up to the top of the ingredients.
Simmer at 250 degrees for one to three days.
Check frequently (every few hours)
Add water if the liquid level has dropped significantly.

Stir, serve and enjoy!
